A collection of even more shit

So I've been lacking posting on this platform...
Not that anyone reads it I'm just apologising to myself...
Come to think of it this blog isn't really a blog anymore its a space where I randomly appear from time to time.

So I'm just gonna show of some of my work and news...

To myself...

So here we go.

1. I now I have become death... The destroyer of worlds.

Over the last few weeks of the summer I have aquired a sewing machine.
If anyone (Me) is interested in the specific one I got its the Singer 4423 heavy duty.

Now I got this sewing machine for a number of reasons.
It has a serging stich which is basically a simple overlock which will be very useful when toiling.
It also has built in stretch stitches... Soooooo I will easily be able to make my compression designs that my Instagram has been boasting recently. (@re.d_sportswear)
Annnd it has a one step button hole.... So no need to break Jo and Jills treasured machine anymore.

And also I don't know if anyone else see's this but I genuily get a massive battleship vibe from this...
The navy grey and sleek design makes me feel like this machine made for impossible tasks.
Hence the quote.

Now to the actual work I've "done"

Here I realised... "James you cant only use Red and White..." Which is convenient because I only have one "Colour" and one "Shade" so i can add another colour with almost no repercussions and just call it the rule of three. "Yes James".
I chose a darker green as I've always been colourblind in some area between Red and Green... So I thought that was slightly ironic.
Funnily enough this is the first peice (above) where i used my own image to trace over.
Here I am trying to add something else to my work.
Notice the shapes behind the two characters. The square represent almost a static object that cant really move forwards or backwards without tipping over (Hence why the poor guy is going to receive a knee to the face with no guard up moving towards it almost as if he hasn't noticed it yet.) And the circle can be seen in a number of ways... a religious context maybe? Or a Japanese piece of art? It would relate to the style of the shorts??? My take on it though is to show the mind of the character... a brain wave. A sudden realisation on how to beat his opponent even when hes standing right in front of him.

I am really trying to find my style and confine it whilst playing around in the mental constructs that surround my designs.
It's weird as, as Tom pointed out last year it's like I have multiple design personality's...

One is Flamboyant and doesn't really seem to give a fuck about anyone else opinion and just takes the piss out of current reality.

Another is very precise and loves to nitpick and create the most advanced work he can. Time doesn't really matter in this state as I'm always trying to build on my last design.

And the third is deep and almost surreal. Methodical. Uses big words. Guess who wrote this post huh? Here I can really explore the core concept and the meaning of my work. (I realise I sound like a cunt who wears a monocle right now bare with me)
I mostly look back here and try to understand where my head was at when I made a certain garment or design in relation to now... this can help me move forward and see what angle or approach I want to take my work in.

Fuck I really should stop drinking coffee on an empty stomach.
