A print... in blue... printblue.
So last night I had a bit of a revelation.
When sparring in Muay Thai throwing a head kick is no rare thing.
So it's annoying to find that when attempting such a manoeuvre your shorts just wont follow your legs up in the air and cause them to be restricted like a dog on a leash.
This is mainly caused by the tension and non stretch properties of the polyester used in the shorts.
But is only tends to cause tension in the groin area and on the outside of the legs.
This is why you sometimes see shorts used in MMA that have slits in them that run up the outside of the leg... this allows the leg to move up and down with more freedom.

However this dosent eliminate the problem completely...
You still need a bit more flexibility in-between the legs.
This problem can be completely removed with the use of compression shorts which are made completely out of a Polyester nylon blend which provides excellent elasticity and stretch.
This type of shorts are worn by athletes such as Conor Mcgregor and Eddie Alvarez.
However these shorts raise there own problems.
They can grip the legs to well causing chafing on the upper thigh and the waist can also be to tight if not sized properly.
So what if you could combine the two...
Best of both worlds.
Stretch where you need it for freedom and stiff fabric for where you need form and comfortable fit.
I think I have an idea for a solution... or at least half of one.
Now I have made the design blue just so it looks like a blue print.
But the white areas show where I have implemented the stretch fabric.
In the groin area and on the outside of the legs.
This in theory should allow the user to stretch and move to his or her desire.
I'm going to experiment with different designs first before I start toiling.
Then I'm going to use the toiles in the field and see which ones work the best and then improve on those as well.
Look at me being responsible.
