Film poster inspooroootioooooon

If I am going to make a film poster it needs to be either one of two polar opposites... 

1. Incredibly complex, giving away most of the characters and plot lines.

This can be seen in the Star Wars Franchise with their film posters showing all of the characters, normally with the hero's in the front and the infamous Villains (Darth Vader literally around 60% of the time). This can be good from an artistic point of view as we can see the the story and the characters in the poster itself. However it can just as easily become a cluster fuck...

2. Beautifully simple... I think one of the best film posters to come out in recent years not to mention films is La la Land... 

Wait no shit sorry Moonlight... 

Whoops 

I love how it shows the transitions and parts of the film through the age of the main character split into 3 parts with that purple and blue tone to it... It just works so well.

I think the simple route can be just as effective as a complex poster just from an arts perspective.
