Pattern cutting with James
The first step in making my first shirt for the story project is making the pattern for it.
So to start this you need a standard block pattern, that completely relies on you guessing your shirt size. Which ends in two ways...
1. The shirt pattern fits well now all you need to tailor it
2. YOU LIED TO YOURSELF YOU ATE TO MANY STICKS OF CELERY OVER THE WEEKEND AND NOW THE YOU CANT GET INTO THE SHIRT
shame on you
Luckily I only had once stick of celery over the weekend so I was able to fit inside the standard pattern.
Here is me reppin that
very
square
calico
shirt
also this block fits really long so I thought it would be awkwardly funny if I wore some shades, shorts and hat to make it look like a really shit forever 21 spin off
If I look back at this in the future I'm going to cringe a LOT.
So how do I improve this shirt?
Well I need to expand the back that's for sure.
When the arms are held out in from of the user it pulls from there making the sleeve tuck under the armpit, which is a bit of a pain.
The sleeves need to be more tailored to the arm but that's an easy fix.
It fits a bit long like I said but again, easy to rectify.
And the shoulders bulge out a bit to much like a blazer, but that might just be the calico being an annoying little bitch.
