Finisterre water colour experimentation
So I have decided that I want to use watercolour for my design as it portrays my 3 words perfectly.
They show colour as they are bright and are...
Well they're water colour dummy
They show life as they can be used to show the randomness of creation when the person using them isn't consciously predicting what it will look like e.g. Flicking the paint
And they can also show energy as by using similar techniques to flicking or dropping the paint explodes outwards with and lands still showing the energy and direction that it was used in.
I had a little experiment today by using the same colour but in a different way...
So here I threw and flicked the paint at the paper which not only created the look of an explosion/ splatter but I also got some lines and dots from where it was flicked.
In this image I simply dropped the paint from a height and let it hit the paper.
The result was much more circular with the occasional splatter heading outwards.
The size of the dot depended on the height and the amount of water in the drop.
I also feel like I should mention that I made the water colour paint myself as I didn't have any to hand.
So what I did was extract some of the ink from some felt pens and added some water.
This gave me flexibility on how strong I wanted the colour to look and also how washed out it looked. As the main idea is to show the splatter of wave as it hits the surfer so no two impacts should be the same.
